Daniel G. ChertokPartner
Daniel Chertok is a native of Long Island but has lived in Saratoga County since 1986. He is a 1984 graduate of SUNY Maritime College, earning a BS in Marine Transportation Economics and a license to sail as a third mate in the United States Merchant Marine.
Mr. Chertok graduated from Albany Law School in 1991, and was admitted to practice in New York state courts and the federal court for the Northern District of New York in 1992. He maintained a solo practice from 1992 to 1994, was a partner in the firm of Chertok & Yates from 1994 to 1996, and returned to solo practice from 1996 to 2005. He was a founding member of LeCours, Chertok & Yates, LLP, in April 2005.
Mr. Chertok's primary focus is on criminal defense, which includes all traffic matters and DWI. Other areas of practice include real estate law, education law, general litigation and the representation of personal injury plaintiffs.
Interests include hiking and small mountain climbing, reading about big mountain climbing, sailing, chess, historical preservation, playing the guitar and blues harp, and engaging in agricultural pursuits. Dan is a member of the Greenfield Historical Society, and is heading a project to map all of the historical sites within his (adopted) hometown of Greenfield. Dan is married and has a teenage daughter.
